A tough round at Clay Pigeon with challenges beyond our control. Practice demonstrated we had excellent pace and steady qualifying placed me 15th for both heats. In heat 1 I climbed to 9th, but a red flag meant the race was docked 1 lap so I finished 13th. In heat 2 I fought through to 10th but then got caught up in an incident with several karts which cost me 10 places. These results put me 26th on the grid for final 1. After gaining a few positions early in the race the kart in front crashed and caught the back of my kart as I went past causing major damage. Dad and Grandad worked hard to get the kart drivable for the final 2. Starting from the back I ended up 24th after a very scrappy race.
A huge amount of experience gained from racing in Super One and enjoying every moment of it. I’d like to say a big thanks to Dad and Grandad for their efforts and hard work this weekend especially in getting my kart out for Final 2, Brian Cole and everyone at Flex Motorsport, Chelsea Barker for despite not being there was watching me on live timing from home, and also Mum, along with my brother and Michelle for coming along to support me.
